Introducing this week’s Woman of the Week, Gul Saeed!
When asked what leadership means to her, she says:
“Leadership means to lead with both your head and your heart. It is much more than a title. I believe that a person should only take on a role because they feel a certain affinity—a purpose, behind it. Give importance to the people and the process; not only the end goal. Learn from your teammates and let them learn from you. Empower people around you, connect and empathize with them. I hope for a day where a lot more women back home in Pakistan will have the opportunity to be in leadership positions. This inspires me to create a platform for people to voice their opinions, to stand up for themselves and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
Gul is a U3 student studying Psychology and Neuroscience. While originally from Pakistan, she grew up in Tokyo, Japan. Currently, Gul serves as the Co-President of McGill International Student Network (MISN), which caters to the largest international student body at McGill.
